Illiteracy in India
Illiteracy, is a small term,but one of the major problem for India. Illiteracy is the inability of a person to read or write. The average literacy rate in the world is 86% while the literacy rate in India is 74%. So, India is behind in case of education. CAUSES OF ILLITERACY: 1. Illiterate Parents: Some illiterate parents do not realise the importance of education. They do not want to educate their children. 2. No family support: In this male dominated society, until now many people think that girls are only for household work and education is not useful for them. This type of poor thinking leads to illiteracy. 3. Unemployment of literate people: When educated people do not get job, they become example of useless education. 4. Poverty: Due to poverty, many children are helpless to do labour work and unable to get education. Poverty reduces the literacy rate to great extent. WHY SHOULD ILLITERACY SHOULD BE REMOVED?
